Blog 3: Creative Writing

Everything started in Prague, Czech Republic where I was staying for a week during my trip. I was enjoying the city so much and having a good time there. Prague is amazing there so many things to see and to do. They also have a rich culture and amazing food. I remember that I was walking through the city when I saw the Franz Kafka museum, I’d already read some books and I liked so much, this writer is amazing and at the same time crazy, his books contains a strong imagination and every senseless things can happen in these stories, by the way I went inside and got a book to read. I couldn't understand any word because everything was in Czech, I kept perusing the book and after some pages I could understand some parts.

The book was talking about a man who was a kind of biologist and that man used to take care of all animals and he could speak with them. He had a zoo, but it was looking like an animal kingdom, every animal was walking through the streets and talking each other, suddenly this man introduce himself as John, and invited me to know his kingdom. He explained that people and animals were living in cooperation each other and he had taught man and animal how comprehend each other. He was holding in his arms an otter and it was injured in a battlefield. So I asked him what happened in the city. He told me that the other men kingdom from north was trying to conquest his lands and everyone in the city was fighting to not allow it. The enemies were in majority and they also had a strong soldiers and weapons. The defeat was matter of time, so I suggested him to make an energy shield around the city using my powerful ring (what?).

Finally I got my ring and ran to the battle front. It was crowned of bullets, explosions and bombs, so I pushed the ring and it started to emanate a green shield around the city. All the shots were being stopped by shield and the army went back. The city was safe again and John gave me the secret of animals scroll. Suddenly I could see me stood up in front of the museum holding the book in my hands. The museum keeper was strangely looking at me. So I realized that I had a crazy waked up dream.

Blog 2: Proverbs

Proverbs always have been used to explain something or some behavior using figurative phrases and meanings, usually it can talk about human comportment, moral and ethical actions, Although some proverbs are very similar with portuguese proverbs, there others completely different and the meaning can be different several times.

On the one hand we can compare some of very useful proverb like: "Rome wasn't built in a day", we have the same proverb and it means, to make big works we need to be patient and plan correctly everything because it gonna take a long time to make or to do. We gonna see also a proverbs like: "Write the bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble"It means, to not take with you the bad experiences, and try to forget them, but the good actions and experiences you should try to remember and always get with you. the translation in portuguese is the same. In addition we can mention the proverb: "Knowledge is like a garden: if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested" and it means: if you have learned something and never use or practice it, probably you gonna lose this skills, you should always been practicing your skills and your mind as well.

On the other hand I'd like to mention the proverb: "Skillful sailors aren't made by smooth seas". It says: to learn something, acquire good skills and knowledge is not easy, probably you should have hard experiences to get it. I've never seen this proverb before, but make much sense for me, and is completely true, nobody became good in something without hard work, focus and determination.

Finally we can see a extensive contrast between figurative proverbs and the real life, because it can help us to understand about our own behavior day-by-day.
